OneDrive: Shared folders are only available via internet shortcut

I am having problems with shared folders in OneDrive. They are showing up as internet shortcuts only, I used to have them in File Explorer as a folder that I would click on to access content of that shared folder. My IT person found a website stating that Microsoft is aware of this issue. When will this be fixed?

Everyone who is hit by this bug/issue please report it to Onedrive support.

Without reporting it they will do nothing.

    More report, more pressure.

Please say that you are not willing to pay for service does not work or is not trustworthy.

Spam MS Support. They will say that they know about this issue, but keep pushing them.

I woke up to this issue today—everything was working perfectly yesterday, but first I was experiencing file duplication, and now my shared folders have turned into URLs instead of proper directories. I tried logging out and back in, but that didn't resolve the issue. I've searched for solutions but haven't found anything that works. This is significantly affecting my workflow.

Has anyone else encountered this? Any fixes or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Well this happened to my wife (who shares my shared folder). This started about 2 months ago. We had not changed any settings. I've spent hours and days trying to work out what's happened until I read this forum. It's not a fix to have to go to the web browser version via a shortcut to work on documents we share regularly. Is this still an issue. 6 months to fix something at Microsoft? Will it be fixed?

It's the same here. Now we've also lost access to our data.

Our family's central data storage is an additional Microsoft account, which we were previously able to access with our laptops via shared folders. That's no longer possible.

It still worked until a few days ago. Then, unexpectedly, the message came that a lot of data had been deleted. I hadn't understood that. I suspect that the local copies on my laptop have been deleted because the shares I use no longer exist as folders.

No, copying files back and forth via the web browser is not an alternative or a workaround for us.

This has started to affect me on my MAC. It is extremely annoying and a challenge because it is a sharing environment from a group I am affiliated with, where the information is often time sensitive. It started one night overnight without any action of my part or the site administrators. Mia (or any Microsoft official), can you give an update, please?
