OneDrive: In windows 11, file explorer no longer allows you access to shared folders within "my files" or QuickAccess except as a link to the online version of the folder

These issues are specifically for accessing files/folders within File Explorer.

Noted today that for shared folders that were previously added (and readded today) to My Files do not allow access to the contents of the folder but instead they appear as a link to the webpage portal for access to the folder.

Initial access to the web portal version did not seem to work until after logging out and back in again (I think this is referenced in a published workaround).

Further, the same shared folder cannot be accessed via the link in Quick Access. It provides a "location is not found" error instead.

Not sure if there's a fix to this pending?

We are not a development department and cannot confirm to the exact timing of the issue fix.

If we receive a notification, we will share it with our users as soon as possible.

We have been experiencing the same problem for the past couple weeks as well but only on 1 user account. We tried the following, but nothing has restored the files to File Explorer (internet access only for shared files):

    1. Unlinking and re-linking the PC
    2. Uninstalling and reinstalling OneDrive
    3. Resetting the PC and keeping personal files
    4. Resetting the PC and deleting all files
    5. Setting up a brand new PC under the user account

Hoping the problem is resolved soon.

    Carlos,

You should train your people task to responding to this issue better.

I have had 2 tech support people that are absolutely clueless.

They appear to not understand onedrive at all. They can't review and decern the information they ask for and sent to them.

Typically the Microsoft support people are stellar. These 2 are like a fish out of water.

Over the past two weeks, we've been facing a similar persistent issue, where files do not appear in File Explorer when accessed online for shared files. Despite our efforts to resolve the problem through various methods, the issue remains unresolved.

We tried unlinking and re-linking the PCs, reinstalling OneDrive, and even the OS running on our PCs while keeping personal files, resetting the PC and deleting all files. Unfortunately, none of these steps have restored the files to File Explorer. This situation affects our collaboration using the shared folder contents and we are loosing money everyday. Please solve this issue as soon as possible.
