OneDrive: In windows 11, file explorer no longer allows you access to shared folders within "my files" or QuickAccess except as a link to the online version of the folder

These issues are specifically for accessing files/folders within File Explorer.

Noted today that for shared folders that were previously added (and readded today) to My Files do not allow access to the contents of the folder but instead they appear as a link to the webpage portal for access to the folder.

Initial access to the web portal version did not seem to work until after logging out and back in again (I think this is referenced in a published workaround).

Further, the same shared folder cannot be accessed via the link in Quick Access. It provides a "location is not found" error instead.

Not sure if there's a fix to this pending?

I am having the same issue, and it cripples my office PC from doing NECESSARY tasks, like being able to save scanned local documents into the shared cloud folder. I can no longer view and print critical work documents in the medical office where the File Explorer is used to access the main office remotely. It now opens Word docs in a browser and skews everything all over.

    This is a terrible issue.

This should be updated to an extremely HIGH priority issue to be fixed.

I have a customer with the same problem. It's occurring on two machines but the others (five in total) are okay - at the moment.

Is there any update as to what is happening?

This same issue started with me last Saturday, June 8.

I have been using this same folder from my company on my Windows Explorer for 4 years now! And boom. Now I can only see the company folder on my OneDrive as a "Internet Shortcut" instead of a "File folder"... My workflow is in shambles now.

I even asked my manager to remove me from the shared users list and add me again - which he did - to no avail. I am searching all around the internet for a solution for days now. I have tried reinstalling the OneDrive app, logging in, logging out, and not sure what to do anymore...

Next step will be formatting my entire computer... 😑
