OneDrive shortcut appears as an internet shortcut instead of a folder

A OneDrive folder has been shared with me, but in windows File Explorer, it appears as a link rather than a folder when I add it as a shortcut to OneDrive "My Files". How can I fix this so the shortcut appears as a folder instead of a link?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

IS THERE A FIX YET? THIS IS GOING ALMOST A YEAR!

The internet link does not function the same and is impacting business productivity.

For example, can't copy/paste or open files in Windows directly using the link,

I have two different external systems I WAS accessing as a folder, not a link and can not do this.

WHEN IS IT GOING TO BE FIXED??????

My productivity has suffered quite a bit. So much redundancy needed now just to do my processing of regular documents now. It makes me so mad that they don't seem to care how badly they are affecting productivity for so many people right now.

I've been complaining for months - and had seen some recent changes which implied they were doing something in the backend.

I have multiple other accounts sharing with me (other family members), and one stopped working 3 months ago, 2 others stopped working last week (as I assumed they made back end changes).

Then today, finally, all accounts are working! :-)

But Microsoft's communication is absolute ****!

They should provide a post about this issue, what it is, what they are doing, advise if there's anything we can do ourselves to help, and provide comms about the timeline for resolution!

I was very close to cancelling the MS family account and signing up with drop-box, or Google-drive.

All I can suggest to folks on here - hang in there - they might fix it one day.

I'm now taking an extra copy to an external hard drive of all shared folders in case it happens again - as web access to 20,000 photos is just not practical.

    GOOD LUCK FOLKS!

Same issue here. It's amazing to see how there's no fix yet.

I'm having the same issue. It looks like it started happening on April 11th for me. Was there a change that recently happened?
