Hello, What software will people be using and why when Publisher is phased out in October 2026? Thank you.

I know there's InDesign and Canva. Also, will Publisher files be able to be converted ?

I feel I have to comment that M/S Word is no match for the excellence of M/S Publisher, in spite of the fact that, perhaps, current users are declining! I have many thousands of files which will need attention or, I guess, lost! I really hope that a suitable conversion or new transfer application will appear before October, 2026! Or, I may have to go back to Pages and re-establish my much earlier association with Apple Mac!

It is discouraging and since I to date have done mostly invitations or cards on it, I will consider making a change now. I find that these large companies are too big or layered to really care about any of our concerns. For those of you who have invested years into Publisher, this is a difficult situation. What makes Publisher so good is the simplicity of the program.

This totally bites. I use Publisher more than anything else in the Office suite. I don't want your AI **** either. I know what I want and I don't need a computer to tell me. Beside that, I know from experience that Word and PowerPoint are not going to allow me to do what I need. Microsoft needs to fix this.

    Aloha from Hawaii:

I depend upon Publisher for a monthly newsletter I publish. I also have fun throughout the year creating documents for friends and family and occasionally help with another newsletter. (My time is donated and the documents are shared free of charge. Yet, I pay for my own 365 subscription out of pocket, just so I can have Publisher.) I have tried doing documents in Word, but the program is stodgy and just won't allow for creative layout even for a single page, let alone a 12-page document full of photos and articles and art. Please don't leave us journalistic types hanging.

I have been using Publisher for years to create genealogy albums and am devastated that this fantastic tool is being dropped. I have literally hundreds of pages that I will have to save as pdfs or jpgs to make sure I don't lose them. How can you do this to your customers? Please reconsider this decision or at least offer some alternatives.
