Hello, What software will people be using and why when Publisher is phased out in October 2026? Thank you.

I know there's InDesign and Canva. Also, will Publisher files be able to be converted ?

The clear advice I have from softwarebase.uk, which Trustpilot rates highly, is that the only solution to this problem is to cancel my subscription to MS365, uninstall it from my laptop, and install instead Office 21Pro-plus, which gives me Publisher, Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc for eternity for a one-off payment to softwarebase.uk which is a lot less than one month's subscription to MS 365, so I solve the problem and save a small fortune at the same time. By paying a bit more and buying the reinstallable version of Office 21 Pro-Plus I am also in a position in future to shift it to any new computer I buy. It is apparently NOT true that you can load both 365 and Office on the same machine by creating two profiles on it. The only ways to have both on one machine are to have dual boots or to have a Windows virtual machine running within Windows itself. I'm not enough of a geek to attempt either of those.

I totally agree about Office 365 vs the Google office suite and Open Office. The only thing that makes MS Office stand out is Publisher. When it's gone, I see no reason to pay Microsoft for equivalent apps I can get for nothing.

For anyone that doesn't want the added copilot you can change your subscription in your account otherwise on renewal you will automatically be charged the higher subscription to include it. We have Microsoft 365 Family costing £79.99/year on renewal this was suddenly going to jump up to £104.99, I logged into my account and changed the subscription to Microsoft 365 Family Classic which will continue at £79.99. (does not include copilot)

No one wants AI! It's all big tech stealing from individuals.
