How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

    And if you turn off connected experiences all of sudden it won't work across devices WHICH IS THE WHOLE POINT OF 365. I know can't get excel to open on my second computer so I can put some very important information into a spreadsheet. So now I am not even getting what I ALREADY PAY FOR.

    Microsoft -- if you ever read this -- this was a COLOSSAL BLUNDER. Put it back the way it was and let people UPGRADE to CoPilot if they so choose.

    BEWARE!!! I just paid for the standalone version of Microsoft 365 - and the Microsoft website says the standalone version doesn't have the AI Copilot in it. IT DOES. So buying the standalone version doesn't solve the problem of trying to get off Copilot. Microsoft is the sleaziest tech company on this planet.

    YUP. Microsoft, you SCREWED UP BIG TIME. Develop some ethics and take care of your customers or you are going to lose even more customers.
