How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

    NONE of this works. In addition, Microsoft has cut off copilot support on all phone numbers. The system refuses to send you to a live customer representative and then hangs up. In the US, the numbers:
    855.270.0615, 800.865.9408, 800.642.7676...People we need to be prepared to take this to our elected representatives and the Federal Trade Commission.

    Instead of searching for "Copilot", try searching for "Analyzing data" or by clicking the Ribbon & Toolbar icon to navigate. I'm certain they have disabled the ability to search for that term in the search field.

    Yes, it is clear that Microsoft has set up a big wall, and is refusing to take any calls about disabling Copilot. This is CRIMINAL behavior. And a complete failure considering that Microsoft has a full page on "responsible use of AI." What a JOKE.

    I'm on a Mac.

    Doing this disables the ability to read PDFs.

    For all suggested fixes, could you PLEASE say if you are using a PC or a Mac as the work-arounds for one don't work on the other.

    I've been following this thread since it started and have found no way to disable the silly icon that pops up on every document, so like tinnitus or people who talk loudly in public, I am learning to ignore it rather than live in perpetual frustration..
