I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.
I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.
Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

I can live with it sitting in the ribbon. It just sits there for those who want it and can be ignored. The intrusion on the written page is the annoyance. Why is there nothing in Preferences to turn it off or an off button in the Copilot button in the ribbon?
You will find with LibreOffice Writer that some diagrams from a Word document will not quite translate exactly, and you will need to do a bit of editing. Also, writing BASIC user-defined functions that return an array to the Calc spreadsheet is not comparable to Excel. But I'm sure there are some workarounds.
Microsoft needs to understand what their users want, paying for these features isnt it. I have cancelled my 365 subscription and reverting back to a 2021 license from an old laptop.
I can't find co-pilot on the right side of the page!!

Success!!
I went to cancel Microsoft a couple weeks ago and was given an option for two free months to stay (no thanks). Also there was an option to 'downgrade' back to 'classic' (for the same price as before). It's basically what we were using until the unwanted intrusion of Copilot.
I then had to wait until 28th for the change to occur.
Today (29th in NZ), I am free of Copilot!
The annoying little character on Word has disappeared.
I am free!
So if you can't see the option to go back to 'classic' (I don't remember seeing it at first), click to cancel your subscription and you should see it then.
Bonus: no increase in price, either.
