How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

    One possible solution for Mac users is something I have never even considered. I've never bothered with Pages and I don't know any Mac user who does bother with it. But Pages is compatible with Word – that is, if you create a document in Pages, it can be opened in Word. Ditto with Numbers for Excel and Keynote for Powerpoint.

    Is this an option? Imagine the freedom of telling Microsoft where to go with its copilot!

    Yep. Pages is the best alternative I can think of for Mac users. I’m using that until MS sorts this out. It’s very annoying that I need to though, because I’m paying for a MSOffice family sub.

    LibreOffice has a very similar style to Word, much more than Pages, and it's free. It uses drop down menus instead of ribbons, which I detest.

    I have cancelled 365 Family and will continue to use an external drive, iCloud, Dropbox Free and Google Drive for syncing/backup.

    OneDrive syncing is very fast, but iCloud will do.

    I hope Copilot and "Here's AI whether you like it or not." crashes and burns - as it deserves. I also hope MS loses a lot of subscriptions because of it.

    Unfortunately, I've discovered, much to my frustration, that you can't convert a Word document back into Pages. You can convert Pages into Word but not the other way around. I had to copy and paste across the two.

    I work for councils who use MS Office, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and so I can't not use MS Office.

    This situation TRULY SUCKS! I can't stand opening up a new word doc and seeing that STUPID COPILOT thing on the page. Please take COPILOT OFF!! It's so annoying.
