How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

Thank you!

Hi Steve, as far as I can tell (I might be wrong), there is no 'Hannah'! That's apparently an AI assistant. You can tell when they start with something like "I understand that you are wanting to...." The AI seems to repeat back the gist of your enquiry and then use gleaned key words to miss the point entirely.

No worries. Griping on Microsoft's community complaints pages is a good replacement for TwiXter! And wastes just as much time.

    Luke,

The only way (apparently) to down-grade your sub is to "Cancel" it. When you do opt to 'cancel' you will see new options and can then down-grade. I am too scared to do this yet, as I now have minuscule trust in MS and can imagine horrible things happening--but others have done this and are awaiting the no-frills version without copilot. I might try it the day before my current sub expires--or something. In the meantime Im hoping Microsoft will just remove or allow disable of Copilot based on so much customer frustration and anger.

Thank you again, Tasha! I've just done this now, and everything looks ok from my point of view at this stage. My account is due to become 'Classic' on 24 November, so will see what happens then.

So, I haven't noticed here anyone commenting on the 'AI Credits' system that Microsoft is also implementing along with its stupid Copilot. It seems that Microsoft is eventually going to try to make people pay twice for the tool no one asked for! Charming.
