How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I'm so glad that it half worked!

Annoying because all the documentation states changing your privacy settings in one app alone will flow through to the rest.

I also have a Microsoft 365 Family subscription! Pardon me, an important distinction I completely overlooked until checking back for you. A personal Microsoft account, but an Office 365 Family subscription.

I can only suggest:

• Were Word (and all the other 365 apps) closed while you changed the privacy settings from Excel?
• I deselected ALL the available 'connected experiences' in the privacy settings (there are three altogether - they advise turning off only two of them)
• You are accessing these apps on the one device, using the one subscription?
• You were signed in to your account while changing the settings in Excel? Then, again, signed in to Word? Its quite onerous to sign out, must admit, but worth a check?

If I were you, I'd turn the connected experiences on again, then off again in the privacy settings each app. Just in case something is over riding the settings for one app in particular. I tried going into privacy settings from my Microsoft account - none of the relevant options available unfortunately.

You could simply try turning everything off and starting again i.e.: system restart????

I have tried every advice I have found on Google to disable Copilot! The free version appears in my account under Services and Subscriptions as per screenshot. I cannot find anything enabling me to disable it here and it does not show in my Taskbar either. I have disabled i.e. "enabled" in "Turn of Copilot". No luck, it still pops up.

The icon still appears in documents like Word etc. and is driving me crazy!

Kindly advise.

I found connected experiences on the Mac and turned them all off, but copilot is still there.

Yes, I am Windows , but there are also MacOS instructions too!

In any of 365 excel, oneNote, powerpoint or word (don't use outlook, there are complications!) from your menu, select preferences then privacy and turn off the offending experiences there:

Click on the privacy settings link I've highlighted (above) and you'll find your Mac option:

It should not be this hard to opt out!!

I am in the same situation and I'm furious that there seems to be no way to remove Copilot. I do not want AI ANYWHERE near my work!
