How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

Thank you!

This is really poor development. I have paid for a Microsoft Office 365 subscription for 5 years, and Microsoft just pushes these useless apps on users without any way to disable them. It’s truly ridiculous and annoying. Please fix this, or I won’t continue paying for these apps in the future.

Likewise. I've never activated this ****. As a professional writer/editor, this just gets in the way and I want it removed completely. There is no function to deactivate it! I've deleted the CP app, I've never activated the thing, but it suddenly appeared on my word doc today. It's obviously spying on keystrokes. I want it gone from my apps.

I have family 365. It's so infuriating. I have tried all the suggestions so far, and none worked. Microsoft, Google and Apple are all guilty of forcing stupid 'features' on users.

The other super annoying and persistent 'feature' of OneDrive is 'For You' which shows random photos from your account whenever you open the app on a PC or phone. Who doesn't have pics they don't want suddenly on display for anyone in eyesight?

I have been unable to remove Copilot from Word. None of the stated solutions are actually to be found in my Word. I refuse to be forced to download a ridiculous amount of data in uninstalling and reloading the Office suite as has been suggested.

Like other people have noted, some of us do work where it is ESSENTIAL that NO AI be associated with it in any way. People in this situation face having years of work and credibility being thrown out the window.

Getting this at least completely deactivated from with Word and the rest of the Office suite is frankly vital for some of us who are actually paying for this 'service.'

Unless this is resolved VERY quickly, I shall be forced to cancel all subscriptions and find some other products. I would rather not be forced to do that.

Along with all the others. This "feature" is unwanted, annoying, tedious and and a waste of time. Never seen anything more annoying since "clippy".

This is enough to send me to open source office. Going backwards a few generations is worth it to get rid of this rubbish annoying me at every line.

This addition is a huge step backwards.
