How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I just turned off Copilot by clicking on my account email in outlook and clicking through to get to privacy settings. you can choose to turn off products that analyze content. I had to scroll down to find. It does not say Copilot but that is what Copilot does.

it took it off my outlook Yeah ! Microsoft doing for AI points **** that no one needs if you went to school and learned how to write. Just another way to collect data that you will have to pay for in the future.

I cancelled my MS 365 family subscription today. My privacy expectations are clear. I have ALL connected experiences and all experiences that analyze my data turned off. The latest MS office updates do not come with the ability to turn off CoPilot (even Word). Yet, CoPilot is still on.

And to add to it, when I go to account.microsoft.com Privacy > Empower your productivity Microsoft is STILL recording all my activity even when I have clearly turned off all connected experiences and all experiences that analyze my data. So today I cancelled my subscription. I have also turned off my MS 365 for business subscription. The instructions for those apps don't work either. OpenOffice isn't perfect, but it's better than having these "experiences" being shoved down my throat.

Microsoft has hundreds of millions of paying customers around the world. Its CEO laughs when a few indignant customers like you do not renew their subscriptions. Microsoft is way too big, too rich and too powerful for its own good. Unlike AT&T in 1982, which divested itself of all the local Bell Telephone companies it owned, and despite the huge fines they have imposed on Microsoft (1.6 billion Euros in the E.U. alone), the competition authorities in the U.S. and E.U. have not been able to break Microsoft down into smaller competing companies, This company is more powerful than many governments. It is a sad commentary on the distribution of wealth and power in our world.

The 'Enable Copilot' option in Word has changed to 'Collapse Copilot summary automatically'. So far from extending the Copilot turnoff switch to Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, Microsoft has actually disappeared it from Word.

Referting to Classic Office is now the only way.

If Microsoft believes that I will come to like Copilot because they are forcing me to use it, they are very much mistaken. I hate Google Docs and other word-processing software, but I'd rather change and then grin and bear it than carry on swearing all day long because of the irritation caused by Copilot. For the first time in my life, I removed my automatic subscription.
