How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am so furious about CoPilot.
It is not wanted or needed in my personal or business operations & I do not want Microsoft training it's AI by snooping on my work.
Microsoft really hasn't learnt from the enormous antitrust case they faced about embedding Explorer in their products have they?
This intrusion by CoPilot is unacceptable, doubly so because you cannot turn this invasive, privacy breaching software off!

You have to 'downgrade' your subscription.

I've been free of this evil add on since 28 November.

Go to 'manage your subscription' I think it is called.

Cancel your subscription.

You will likely get an offer to stay on for free. Either at that stage or after declining the free offer, you will see (or at least I did) an option to have a 'classic' account without Copilot. Bonus: it's at the same price as it was a couple months ago, before the recently announced price hike.

You will then have to wait until the day after your renewal for it to update, but you'll be free of this cursed add on.

Nope - it was gone for half an hour and now this evil rubbish is back after it asked for a restart. I have done this procedure 3 times now and each time it disappears briefly, only to come right back.

Many thousands of people on this thread and others have also reported ABSOLUTELY HATING MICROSOFT COPILOT and its invasion of privacy. They are calling it corporate abuse of the worst kind. They are having no success removing it with this provided answer. But here is one that DOES work from Tanya_55. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

To all frustrated respondents to this post, I have found a way to turn it off!!!!

At the bottom, under "Your Privacy Settings and CoPilot" is listed what you need to do:

i.e.: Open any of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, or OneNote

Click File then select Account (at the bottom, above Feedback and Options)

On your Account page, under Account Privacy click the Manage Settings button

Then, under "Connected Experiences" you need to turn off:

• Experiences that analyse content, and
• All connected experiences

Click OK

You will be warned about all the bells and whistles you're going to miss out on, but its so easy to turn on and off, you could, for instance, turn them off, write and submit your thesis, then turn them on again?

There is some semblance of control after all!

I only use Excel and Word but CoPilot is no longer interupting my edits in either!

Using this exact guide provided, the page in question DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO SWITCH OFF COPILOT.

That option does not exist
