I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

Thank you!

I have exactly the same problem and am equally frustrated. I managed to remove the icon from the ribbon (along with the Editor icon, which I can access another way). I have sent a very firmly worded feedback message to Microsoft demanding that they remove this rubbish and encourage you all to do the same.

Could you please let us know how you managed to remove the Copilot icon from the Ribbon . I feel that that would be the first step to avoid cluttering the ribbon with undesirable functions.

Also I have not done this before, so could you or anyone else who could, please let me know how to write to Microsoft to remove this feature from their software and put back the STYLES list that used to be when Format was chosen on the tab. Thank you.

I forgot to mention that the above problem caused by Microsoft is on Outlook 365 when Copilot has replaced the Styles list.

I was able to remove the Copilot Icon in Outlook 365 by locating the Assistance tab on the right side of the Customize Ribbon screen (All Commands) and removing it,

If Microsoft is so stupid as to stop us from migrating off their invasive AI product, that's illegal - and they should be reported to the Federal Trade Commission. Which I'm about ready to do.

I got a live person. He said he couldn't do it. I think they are even trying to stop that option. Because they spent lots of $$$$ on developing this stupid thing and promised their shareholders HUGE returns. If everyone drops it, they won't have those huge returns.

TOTALLY agree. I am ENRAGED at what Microsoft has done shoving this AI **** down our throats and scraping our content without our consent. If this isn't illegal, it should be.

I have been working on this for days now. From what I can tell, you have to switch your plan from your current plan to a plan that has the word CLASSIC in it., i.e., Microsoft 365 Personal Classic. The problem is that when you get into your account to switch over NOW, their system is saying that the switchover will take place whenever your plan renews which could be a year from now. My understanding is that you have to get to a live person at Microsoft and have them help you make the switch now vs. later.
