How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

    I am having the same problem, and I totally agree with the statement that this is Clippy in disguise, possibly even more annoying. This coupled with the fact that my subscription fee has jumped up by around 40% in the last month is making it more likely that I will just cancel my subscription completely and start using Google docs or other free software.

    Thanks :) I wouldn't be surprised if they removed that option to go back to the Classic, to force people to keep the stupid copilot. We'll see.

    Their offer didn't mention the option to go back to classic, but I could see it on the page - or maybe I had to click on manage subscriptions or something. Sorry I can't remember the detail now, but it definitely wasn't there (that I saw) until I tried to cancel. Hopefully it turns up for you.

    Microsoft needs to understand what their users want, paying for these features isnt it. I have cancelled my 365 subscription and reverting back to a 2021 license from an old laptop.
