How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

Thank you!

This Copilot invasion of MY computer is ENRAGING.
There seems to be NO WAY of removing it from Excel.

I will now be advising all those who come to me for IT advice (and several do) to AVOID Microsoft Office.

It does not work for Office 365 MAC. There is nothing in the Options to turn off Copilot.

So glad you had success removing copilot. Alas, this does not work for all the Mac users out there.

    SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fellow Frustrated Users - I figured out how to remove Copilot from my apps. This is AFTER cancelling/updating my plan to the classic/non-AI version.

Open Excel, Word, whatever. Access the Options menu.

    1. Navigate to the Ribbon customization screen.
    2. Ensure the Main Tab (or All Tabs is visible) so you can see the Home group.
    3. Highlight the Assistance group, and then
    4. REMOVE.

    Boom!

I have Office 365 personal. I followed the instructions above to disable Copilot, however, there is no tab for "services and subscriptions" on the left side only subscriptions. What should I do to disable Copilot? I look forward to anyone's comments. Thanks
