How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

    This is so stupid. Why the he.. would they just add some annoying ai heckler without my even having to approve it? Now it's like getting trolled by the system in my quest to remove this stupid function. Need a restraining order with these people.

    I don't mind it being available to use (with a toggle to turn on and off) like any feature (like autocorrect).

    Microsoft wants everyone to use it because every input trains the Large Language Model. Every time you use Copilot you're a defacto employee of Microsoft—making their product better and more valuable.

    Thanks for your thoughts, Courtney. I wholly agree. I neither want nor need this garbage feature! And I wasn't warned that it would magically (sinister-ly?) appear and refuse to go away. I'm inches away from learning how to work with Pages, Numbers and Keynote.

    I agree. Why does Microsoft hate it's users? I didn't ask for this annoying, unhelpful app. There should be an easy way to disable it. But no. Not MS. It's BS!
