How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

Thank you!

I couldn't agree more - with those (above) who have expressed frustration (and worse) with Copilot.

I've only been aware of it for one day and I've wasted hours today trying to remove it.

Microsoft needs to apply a fix - pronto!

I'm having the issue of not being able to deactive copilot in MS Word. There are control or deactivation options showing in my Microsoft account, and nothing MS word preferences that I can find.

I don't want AI to write my documents or make suggestions, I want to write my documents. I need to remove this software from word or be able to deactivate it.

I don't want copilot or AI making suggestions while I work.

This does not work for me. Copilot turned up with the latest update, and I cannot get rid of it. There is no option to disable it on the "right side of the page". Where can I find this please? Copilot is seriously annoying.

I have exactly the same problem and am equally frustrated. I managed to remove the icon from the ribbon (along with the Editor icon, which I can access another way). I have sent a very firmly worded feedback message to Microsoft demanding that they remove this rubbish and encourage you all to do the same.

I have the same problem. I do not want this pathetic, ridiculous icon appearing on my word documents and I do not want ANY uninvited AI apps on my computer. I have uninstalled this instrusive app from my computer.

On my MS 365 page I have attempted to disable copilot by logging in, going to settings>sidebar>copilot> and toggling off "show copilot" but it still appears in the toolbar in word documents and the stupid icon still appears on every new line in the document itself. It's incredibly distracting.
