How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

    Microsoft has become an out of control behemoth that believes it is above the law. The idea that Windows 10 will ultimately be disabled or put out to pasture is also ridiculous - most European governments use it and are not in a position to switch willy nilly to a new system that is as bug-ridden and unnecessary as most Microsoft 'improvements' are and always have been. Transferring tax monies to private hands (Gates & Co.) won't happen here. I fully expect some last-minute announcement that W10 will be kept alive longer for some flaky reason to be forthcoming., or else our clever minds here will come up with something else, but what ever it will be will undoubtedly be expensive for those of us paying taxes and probably come at the expense of other programs having less funding in order to enable greedy Microsoft to continue to try to enslave the world.

    This is just farcical.

    They embedded a major, and intrusive, new feature WITHOUT adding an off switch.
    Do you think this was an oversight? I don't. They've now had months of free training for their AI using our work.
    There is also no assurance that turning Copilot 'off' actually shuts the AI out or if it just hides the helper interface.
    Is the AI still working in the background, stealing your work?
    This AI is nothing more than spyware. It fits every definition of the term - installed without a users knowledge, sends content back from the user to an external location, is difficult or impossible to remove.

    Basically, lawyers cannot keep using MS apps as Copilot cannot guarantee that info does not bleed from work done in one case to another case, which could put the lawyer in danger of losing their approbation.

    As it tuns out, so-called 'Classic' is Microsoft 365 minus Copilot or the price hike (basically what we had before M$ went bananas). Unfortunately, the switchover happens at your next renewal, so Copilot is with you until then. I'm switching to Classic anyway, and will pounce on the Copilot options in Excel, OneNote, and Powerpoint as soon as they pop up.
