How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

Thank you!

Totally agree. For Microsoft to insert their AI into our documents without our knowledge or consent is outrageous - and an invasion of privacy. And isn't it "interesting" that Microsoft techs give advice for how to remove copilot from our applications - and their instructions don't work. I'm about ready to contact my Senator about this.

Your instructions did not work - and the interface in your screenshot isn't the same. I never authorized this ridiculous, invasive **** functionality. Make it easy to turn it off. Your instructions don't make sense.

    Hi!

I recently figured out how to turn Copilot off in Word (talk about annoying!)

In Word navigate to File > Options > Copilot > Uncheck box next to enable Copilot.

    Viola!

I go to CoPilot and it doesn't give me the option to disable. So still no go. but good idea for those with the option.

I literally do not want it anywhere on my computer, not even disabled. It should be an APP you can download or not just like any other. I don't have most of the apps downloaded because I do not use them.

Thanks @BethNZ, I just went in & switched my subscription to 'Classic' and the price dropped dramatically AND AI will be gone when my sub renews.
