Please help me disable personal vault I didn't want it and I can't get rid of it.

I had the same problem - I emptied my personal vault but still OneDrive would constantly stop with:

Then my OneDrive just crashed with Exception code: 0xc000027b

I had to re-install and restart my OneDrive, and it began re-syncing all my local files.

As luck would have it, this time OneDrive ignored my (already empty) personal vault, and it hasn't bothered me since.

But it was sheer luck.

It appears Vlase's suggestion (to reset OneDrive) has the same benefit.

I am also unable to disable person vault. The option is not there and it is causing syncing issues. I really don't want it. Is there another way to remove/disable it? April 2025

Useless I don't need to restore OneDrive just get rid of Personal Vault never asked for it don't want it.

Still nothing from M$............

I pay to get extra storage on OneDrive, and still don't have the option to get rid of this feature that I don't use and that through design interrupts file syncing on a daily basis. Having to mess about with restores is not really an option when the whole point of my using One drive is to sync my work so that I can access it on any of my workstations from anywhere, mobile or desk, tablet or PC. On my Apple devices It's nowhere to be seen so, why not have the option to turn it off on M$ products again.

Come on Microsoft, give us back the option to turn it off.

Same here - it got enabled and now it's annoyingly asking about itself all of the time. While at the same time, I had hoped that OneDrive would have logged a file in its history, but that part is empty :(
