Folder Shared With Anyone Can't Download All, Can Only Download One At A Time

Sharing a OneDrive folder with a client and I've set the permission to "Anyone with link can download" and they don't have an download option. If they navigate into a folder and select a file, they get a Download link. If they select two files, the Download link disappears. So they can have to download files one at a time.

Their spouse, who is logged in to their Microsoft account, can download.

This is clearly a bug. Please fix this bug ASAP.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Make sure you're not logged in to your Microsoft account
  2. Click this link: Link to OneDrive folder with 2 files in it
  3. Select one file: You'll note there's a Download button
  4. Select the other file: Download button goes away
  5. Deselect all files and select the button next to the folder. No Download button.

    Seriously! Can't you fix a problem like that in a year? Actually, I only recently started having this problem, so I guess you're doing it on purpose. Why are you harassing your paying customers? Gross arrogance on your part!

    Yes, they are doing it on purpose. New TOS item. Use Dropbox or Google Drive instead. Dropbox will prompt people to login, but there's a link to continue without logging in.

    I am in exactly the same boat. Microsoft has left me looking unprofessional by failing to provide the service they advertised. Many of their services are largely now replaced by free equivalents and certainly with storage, services that actually function. Having spent hours trying to research a fix and finding nothing it really looks like Microsoft doesn't care. A shame as this relationship goes back to the early 1980s. What was a trusted brand, offering reliability seems to have fallen by the roadside.

    We simply want to send a link to a folder and the recipient be able to download that folder or a selection of files within that folder. Can you confirm that you no longer offer this service?

    It's apparently in the new TOS that they don't allow this. I can't be bothered to look. I now use Dropbox and Google office-like products instead of giving Micro$oft any more money.

    Hi,

    I would like to inquire whether the issue regarding the inability to download all shared items at once has been resolved. This limitation poses a significant problem, especially when sharing multiple files with clients who need to download them efficiently.

    If this functionality is still unavailable, I will unfortunately need to consider cancelling my subscription and moving to a service that supports such a fundamental feature.
