I performed the command line update and my Office 2021 updated to the latest version (2408). However, my manual updating is still broken, showing the Error Code.

For those that the officec2rclient.exe update approach has work, congratulations. It has work for us in more and more PCs having still some that are still failing

    .

As I have shared already, Microsoft position is run the officec2rclient.exe and sit & wait until the backend get familiar with the issue. I know this does not work for all .....

This is just ONE of the many issues we have opened with MS on behalf of many customers. Hope is not the case for you.

At this time, I will sign-off. I 2nd-replied to this post on July 31st and learned quite a bit from you all, but it is distracting me now.

    Good luck to all

The other day, I enabled the "Turn on all connected experiences" option, manually updated to version 2407 build 17830.21066 from the command line, then rebooted the computer. After that, I disabled the "Turn on all connected experiences" option again and was able to check for updates without getting any error messages. (just the normal "You're up to date" message). Today, I clicked Update Now and it started updating automatically (even when the "Turn on all connected experiences" option was not enabled). After Outlook restarted, it is version 2408 build 17928.20066. Now when I click Update Now, I get error code 30088-27 again.

Can confirm that in a little different way. I use some local policies regarding office "privacy" - Office 2016 C2R.

Enabled the marked policies just for trying (were disabled)

Rebooted => Updates worked, no error 30088-27

    Disabled the marked ones again.

Rebooted,=> Updates no longer work, again error 30088-27

Well, I think MS might call it a user error if one uses non- MS tools, but if they're stumbling over their own GPOs? (And yes, updated administrative template files for office)

Does anyone have the Release Notes for Version 2408, Build 17928.20066?

I updated my MS 365 to that build via a command prompt, based upon a post here, and that appears in About Outlook.

However, the latest release I can find is Version 2407 from August 13th,
