Update error code 30088-27 Office 2021 what to do to get corrected????

Hey Prius...RELAX A LITTLE. I know from your posts you are really upset, but try to remain civil if you can. Just wanted to let people who may have not tried this that it may be worth a try. You may be right, MS will have to release a fix for the bulk of those affected but in the interim WAIT AND TRY TO RELAX!! I too have clients who want answers, but this forum is to help everyone, not just I.T pros.

I wonder if any of these are the manual updates that might fix the issue for those who cannot update through Office.

I couldn't run those files. I installed the new Windows Updates that came down and it messed up my Office Update again., But, I can run the Click To Run though. Very strange issue here.

Why don't YOU RELAX A LITTLE and quit posting the same tired solutions that (a) DO NOT WORK and (b) have been posted DOZENS of times in this thread alone. Give it a rest. The only real solution here is going to come from MS and, YEAH, I'm supremely p*ssed because it's already been 2 months and there's no official solution in sight; I'm not even convinced they're working on one.

From the MS Learn support article Install Office LTSC Preview about the Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 Preview:

Microsoft support isn’t available for the preview program.Use preview products only for testing purposes. For example, to familiarize yourself with deploying preview products and using the new features in the Office apps. Preview products shouldn’t be used in your normal production environment or on a production device.

If you're using an (unlicensed??) Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 Preview then you should expect to encounter numerous bugs (e.g., like the crash you see when you try to access your Privacy settings). You might be able to report those bugs to Microsoft via the Feedback feature built in to MS Office but I wouldn't expect Microsoft to provide support for the product you've chosen to use.

I've searched online and can't find any official Microsoft documentation for the build 16.0.17830.20142 shown in your Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features image so I'm not clear how build 16.0.17830.20142 was installed on your system today (you said earlier today you were on build 16.0.17830.20056). I'm also not clear why you're using a commercial Preview build of Microsoft Office LTSC 2024, but for now I'm assuming it's because you wanted to test a trial version of MS Office 2024 without paying for a product license.

You also said you are seeing a 30183-27 (400) error code, which is is completely different from the 30088-27 update error code being discussed in this thread (and might indicate your Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 Preview installation is corrupted) . At this point I'd suggest you start your own topic in the Microsoft 365 and Office for Business board of this forum so your own problems receive wider attention and you don't take this thread off-topic.

I agree the second error code is OT so I shan't mention it again. But for me, it is related to this issue as it occurred when I tried to manually update the MS Office LTSC Pro Plus 2024 Preview per your instructions. I will seek resolution to the Privacy Settings crash problem elsewhere.

(fyi, here is where I got the pre-release with activation key and future license. It doesn't say anything about business only - perhaps my error(?) and yes, I know there will be some pre-release bugs

Regardless, when I try to Update Now, I still get the subject error 30088-27. So the issue seems to still be present in 2024 for the moment. Thanks.
