MS 365 update error 30088-27 consistantly now for Outlook, Word, Excel, likely starting after the upgrade to Ver 2406 Build 16.0.17726.20078. Have tried the repairs, and then deleted/reinstalled MS 365 ... still this error. Have tried the two netsh commands noted here ... still this error. Platform is Win11 23H2 at the latest maint level.
Hello, users who are stuck in this thread and suffer from error code 30088-27, please forgive me for my previous misjudgment of this problem. Network reasons have been ruled out as possible causes. This problem has now become a hot topic in the community. In other threads, some users mentioned that this problem occurred after updating to Office version 17726.20126. If you encounter different reasons, please let me know through your reply.
Here is a solution that other users have tried and solved the problem for your reference. It comes from this thread. The problem is solved by disabling updates and rolling back the version of Office:
cd %programfiles% \Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun
Officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.XXXXX.XXXXX
Where the X part is replaced with the Office version, such as Build17425.20176.
You can find the historical version number of Office here:

Office2021: Update history for Office LTSC 2021 and Office 2021 - Office release notes | Microsoft Learn
Please check the above, and if you have any other questions or concerns,
We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerest greetings

Rolling back the version does not solve the problem. The problem only arises when you tell Office to Update Now. There have been no updates since it appeared so it is impossible to determine if it will cause problems if Office attempts an automatic update. After reverting to the previous version, which Maxine recommended to me yesterday, I again attempted to Update Now and received the same error, so the problem persists despite the rollback. Disabling updates does not solve any problems existing as of now regardless of which version is installed. That can be done with either version.
I have been reviewing the Office registry entries, comparing the ones on my systems that work and the one that has the problem, but I haven't found any glaring differences that might cause this, but I am not a registry guru. It just seems strange that only one computer out of three on the network, all running the same version, manifests this behavior.
First of all, Happy 4th to all US-based folks.
As I mentioned before, have been working for more than week with a 365 support agent, trying everything he has come up with. Now, he is in a retreat with other gurus trying to come up with another suggestion.
I have done all you guys have, including the removal of office using https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/about-the-microsoft-support-and-recovery-assistant-e90bb691-c2a7-4697-a94f-88836856c72f
As it was suggested by the agent. It took more than 2 hours for Office to be uninstalled and it did. It fix a thing for me.
My working theory at this point is user profile corruption. I needed to wait until today to gain access over the user’s PC. Will do that, and report my findings later.
