It's definitely a strangely executing error.

Yeah, well, whatever it is, one thing is for certain; it broke with an MS update.

There's really no doubt about that because everyone who has reported this issue has not also reported other anomalies with their machines or setups; just Office updates. So MS needs to figure out what in the hell THEY broke.

Since version 2406 (17726.20126) broke my MS 365, I spontenously get following error message from Bitdefender Total Security which is monitoring all the programs and applications on my system:

The error code 0xc0000142 says that Office has an issue. An online repair doesn't solve the problem as we know.

There are a lot of people spending a lot of time trying to work out what is going on.

It is well past time that someone from Microsoft chimed in to update us on what exactly is going on and when the issue is going to be fixed.

If a fix is going to take a while then a workaround to address the update errors would be appreciated by us all.

Yet no one has responded here from Microsoft in weeks. Makes me wonder why this board even exists.
