Update error code 30088-27 Office 2021 what to do to get corrected????

Hello everybody.

I've been following this thread from the beginning.

My Office 2021 has been affected by Update error code 30088-27 since Build 17726.20126. Today I updated to Build 17830.20166 using the manual procedure described in this thread. In the meantime, my Win 10 also updated to KB5041580 and KB5042352 ("Patch Tuesday").

After these updates, Update error code 30088-27 is gone. Puff! Just like that. Vanished just as mysteriously as it'd come.

Just wanted to let you guys know.

ALL... Just FYI, updated to 8/13 latest version and the issue still persists. Maybe next month :(

Check your Office settings and make sure that the Options > General > Privacy Settings.. screen has the "All connected experiences" option enabled so that you can then enable the "Experiences that download online content" option. (These are the steps for my Office 2016 Professional Plus running on Windows 10.) This should allow you to access the online Help system.

I was going to try this but when I hit the Privacy Settings button, the program crashes (Outlook, Excel, Word...). ??

If office is blocked in your firewall unblock it. Same thing happened to me and then once you allow Word or whatever program through, the privacy settings will show up.

Hey Prius...RELAX A LITTLE. I know from your posts you are really upset, but try to remain civil if you can. Just wanted to let people who may have not tried this that it may be worth a try. You may be right, MS will have to release a fix for the bulk of those affected but in the interim WAIT AND TRY TO RELAX!! I too have clients who want answers, but this forum is to help everyone, not just I.T pros.

Prius didnt say anything that wasn't civil. In fact, your post seemed to come out of left field with that response. Seems you're a bit too defensive that someone is tired of seeing people post the same thing over and over for 29 pages. Prius is correct. Anyone that wants to try your way can read 29 pages and see it over and over. It will either work or it wont. It doesnt help to keep making this thread longer and longer though when it's been said numerous times it doesnt work for everyone. He also has every right to be p*ssed because it has been months and MS seems to be under the impression there is no problem so this will most likely end up being a long time in having to deal with this.

So here comes another random fix that worked for me. YMMV

I use a little software called DoNotSpy11 to control a lot of Windows 10 less desirable activities. For kicks, I turned off this software's changes because there are settings that can affect updates and customer experience (I've been using this software for years and have never had an issue updating prior to this specific error). I restarted and low and behold, my 2024 pre-release updated like a boss. Then I turned DoNotSpy11's changes back on, and it is still updating properly. ?!

Obviously, I can't explain this.
