I like the mschmieg approach to this problem: Just leave MS 365 as is and, when there is an updated version, try an online repair again. I see no reason or gain by instead retreating to a prior version at the moment. This assumes that MS will be fixing this problem, tho.

I just got this from the support guy I have been working with:

    1. Issue possibly related to latest Office release Version 2406 (Build 17726.20126)
    2. Based on screenshot, Office client is already in the latest build, no update required. (Error on error - should have been retuning or giving  that your Office is already up to date)
    3. We suggest downloading the previous version and turn OFF automatic updates until the next Office release.

I think I'm just going to leave it on the latest version as there is no indication that the security updates have been compromised and Office is otherwise working fine. When the other machines update, if this one doesn't, I will do an Online Repair and see what happens.

This is the translation of Michael Lehner's post. This is a new issue that no one else has reported:

The transmission error 0x800ccc1a is now added to the update problem, which prevents me from receiving emails. I have not made any change to the settings and everything still worked last night. If I now try to change the pop settings, the message "... Outlook could not save your account shows".
