Update error code 30088-27 Office 2021 what to do to get corrected????

I'm so fed up with this bug!

Ditto to that and it's really frustrating because everything else works except the update feature. For example, I reverted to an earlier build and all I had to do to get back to the current build was run Online Repair so THAT works but not the internal update button.

I suppose I could just run Online Repair every time there's a new update available.

I've literally tried out everything... and literally nothing has solved the error message from vanishing (using Microsoft 365).

I believe most of us who are still experiencing the issue at this point tried your suggestion many moons ago. The procedure is simply hit or miss and for those of us still posting here, it's a miss.

Personally, I've tried pretty much everything and nothing (I mean nothing) resolves this error code. So for some people on some machines, MS broke the update feature and it appears as if they don't know how to fix it.

2 PCs running Windows 10 MSO 2016 Pro

2 PCs running WIndows 11 MSO 2021

Options > Privacy> "Turn on all connected experiences" and "experiences that download online content" enable both radio buttons. Restart MSO. Close MSO.

Run MSO repair with online option.

Update now works with "You're up to date" message, Help works.

I can also confirm that rolling back to previous versions still has the error. They broke something very badly and they have no clue how to fix it or they have no incentive to fix it. They broke it at the expense of trying to be invasive on your privacy. They broke it in the name of Copilot. They broke it in the name of pushing the new version out. Microsoft is broken and it's time we all face facts... it's time to move on. We had a good run. Find other software.
