I don't think you need to be concerned about those registry entries. AFAIK those values just set the descriptors shown in Task Scheduler for the MS Office automatic update tasks.

I'm affected by the MS Office C2R 30088-27 update errors, and when I view those tasks in Task Scheduler I can see the Last Run Result for my update tasks are currently some generic 0x8007xxxx error code that provides no useful information (e.g., 800710E0 = "The operator or administrator has refused the request"). NOTE: a Last Run Result of 0x0 would mean the update task completed successfully.

Seriously just wow, **** and holy sh*t. They have become so terrible over the years. Im done. Time to move on from this company AND Google.

I'm confounded by the mindset, on the part of Microsoft, that somehow the release of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2024 will resolve the current update issue.

As DP_123 wrote, "all these started malfunctioning at the same time with the update that happened on 6/29/2024 (Version 2406 (Build 17726.20126).", which is true, of course, and yet two subsequent updates have not addressed the issue and/or failed to resolve it. It's just a guess on my part but it sure appears as if that build might have broken a registry entry for some users. In that case, a patch would be needed to restore functionality.

Having said that, it also appears to me that installing an entirely new edition of Office (2024) might also have absolutely no effect since that edition must have been in development well before the problematic Build 17726.20126 was released. Again, since some users are not experiencing this issue or have resolved it on their own, MS needs to issue some sort of patch for affected users who have not been able to resolve the issue.
