Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
In the interim, nothing seems to be working anyway so these efforts appear to be futile. They deleted an entire thread related to this error and the only suggestion they can muster is to roll back to a version that was released in May. No thanks!
The fact that their only 'solution' is to tell people to "roll back" to the May update (ie. Version 2405, Build 17628.20110) tells me (and everyone else) three things. First, that they are aware...extremely aware...of the problem. Second, that they know EXACTLY which update caused the problem (which also means they probably know exactly which coding changes led to the problem). And, third, that they have NO intention to fix the problem. As I said in my last comment, their ONLY concern right now is finishing up Office 2024, and getting it released. I'm willing to bet that at least 95% of the Office team is working on Office 2024, with less than 5% of the team left to 'update' previous versions.
Unfortunately, this is how Microsoft operates. Whenever they are getting close to releasing a new retail version (meaning, not just a "major update" of an already-released product) of something, they seriously slack-off in everything related to older versions of that product. They shift as many people as possible t the 'new' project, leaving nothing more than a "skeleton crew" to manage any problems with said older products. Microsoft has followed this SOP for many years...although, it has also gotten much worse since Bill Gates stepped down as CEO. When he was in charge, problems like this rarely happened.
