I will gladly join it, and I am sure some of our customers will too.

Yes. Now I am wondering, though, how many users have NO IDEA this is even an issue. Is that right? I mean, there must be thousands (maybe tens or hundreds of thousands) who either don't pay attention to updates or just assume they're getting done in the background automatically (and maybe don't even know how to manually check)??

It is just incredible that MS can't understand plain English. As you know, I have been working with a 365 Support agent since the very beginning and hammering him because of his illogical replies. As it is Friday, I guess you need a good laugh as they keep trying to blame everything except themselves.

    His latest e-mail:

    Hello Pedro,

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I apologize for any inconvenience you have faced due to this issue. To address your concerns more effectively and find a resolution without resorting to a rollback, we need to perform some additional troubleshooting steps.

Please follow the steps below and provide the requested information:

    1. Network Configuration:
      • Network Firewall:
        • Please confirm if your organization uses a network firewall. If so, ensure that Microsoft 365 IP addresses, URLs, and ports are not blocked.
        • Reference: Microsoft 365 URLs and IP address ranges
      • VPN Usage:
        • Are you using a VPN? If yes, please disconnect from the VPN and test if the issue persists.
      • Proxy Server:
        • Open Internet Options.
        • Go to the Connections tab.
        • Click on LAN settings and let us know if a proxy server is being used.
    2. TLS Settings:
      • Open Internet Options.
      • Go to the Advanced tab.
      • Under Security, ensure that TLS 1.2 and above are enabled.
      • Disable TLS 1.1 and below.
      • Restart your computer after making these changes.
    3. Office Installation:
      • Uninstall the current version of Office.
      • Download and install the latest version from the official source.
        • Reference: Update history for Microsoft 365 Apps
      • Check if the issue persists after the reinstallation.
    4. Screenshots:
      • Please provide screenshots of the following settings:
        • Network firewall settings showing that Microsoft 365 IP addresses and URLs are allowed.
        • VPN connection status.
        • Proxy server settings from the LAN settings in Internet Options.
        • TLS settings from the Advanced tab in Internet Options.

Your cooperation in following these steps will help us pinpoint the issue more accurately and work towards a solution. If the problem persists after these steps, we will escalate this to our advanced support team for further investigation.

So here we go again …. Looking to blame settings or network issues. I am sorry, but this is a known issue, well documented in communities threads and I am not going to invest (not to say lose) my time on this.

A machine that was working perfectly and updates were flowing till last month, it is now not updating Office and you are still looking to blame ANYHITNG but yourselves.

I will share your post with the community so they can laugh too.

MS 365 update error 30088-27 consistantly now for Outlook, Word, Excel, likely starting after the upgrade to Ver 2406 Build 16.0.17726.20078. Have tried the repairs, and then deleted/reinstalled MS 365 ... still this error. Have tried the two netsh commands noted here ... still this error. Platform is Win11 23H2 at the latest maint level.
