Update error code 30088-27 Office 2021 what to do to get corrected????

Updating to latest version of Office 2019 (released 01-AUG-2024) using the elevated command prompt technique seems to solve the problem.

Open an administrative command prompt and then enter the following command...

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17830.20138

depending on your Office version, the "updatetoversion=" number may differ.

I have to confess that I am a bit lost in the thread.

Besides my act of God, has anyone find anything that works that does not require go to a previous version and stop updates?

Before my last Online Repair (did two of them for this update), I disabled the Privacy Settings, rebooted and then re-enabled all of them except the Send Me Ads one, rebooted again and then did another Online Repair. After that, everything seems to now be working correctly.
