Why does the "Restart Office to apply privacy settings" not go away

Agreed!

Please stop asking users to do the debugging work for Microsoft. For you to give a user what amounts to an hour's worth of work without actually knowing that the work will resolve the problem is from a user's perspective, utterly stupid!

Asking us to spend a large amount of time debugging is not acceptable!\

Please DON"T just tell us that MS needs to work on this. Escalate to higher management. Report back to us on the time frame for addressing the problems.

Please focus on fixing the MS-created bugs that are so annoying and hamper productivity.

A solution where the customer is asked to uninstall and reinstall the software in a blind hope that it will solve the problem is not helpful.

What will be helpful is for you to ensure MS is working on this issue.

• Is there a ticket assigned for this bug?
• What is the timeframe for completion? (The problem has been with us for months and months).

I have restarted office (including closing all MS applications and including rebooting my computer) only to find the annoying "restart required: restart office to apply changes to your privacy settings" persists.

Generally, I ignore the notice, but Excel doesn't allow me to use add-ins unless I change my privacy settings. I make the changes, restart Excel, and find that my changes were not put in place, I do have the message: RESTART REQUIRED. Restart office to apply changes to your privacy settings."

It is horrible that MS apps gives a popup "Restart Required: Restart office to apply changes to your privacy settings" IMMEDIATELY after I have restarted all my MS Office apps to apply my privacy settings, eh.
