Why does the "Restart Office to apply privacy settings" not go away even after i have closed all office products, restarted them i have even restarted PC and still every time i open an office priduct i have this same issue?

This has suddenly appeared. I made no changes and restart does not cure it. Neither does 'fiddling' with the privacy settings as I have no idea what I am doing, This is beyond annoying.

A question for you: for me, the error first appeared after I'd restarted my PC for the first time in several weeks. I should also point out that I have my PC set to never sleep or hibernate (due to an MS issue that causes it to shut down instead of sleep/hibernate).
Have you re-started your computer since you did the fix? Is that when the error came back? Or did it just start happening again?
It certainly would be nice if MS could figure this out. If there are more than two dozen complaints about the error here, you can be sure there are many more people putting up with the same issue.

Worked till today, now it's back AGAIN! You would think by now Microsoft would have figured it out and fixed the problem.
Maybe time to find different software that performs much better!
Okay, once I realized that I should not include the comma at the end of the suggested line of code when entering it in the command prompt, I was able to try this method.
It worked...the persisting Office 365 "restart to apply changes to privacy settings" message has disappeared.
Very much appreciate the help, but geez, for the amount we pay for this software, it'd be nice if MS just developed and sent a fix instead of expecting users to trial and error until something works.
