Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on Windows PC

Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

Dear Microsoft,

Please let this community know if you plan on addressing this issue and some idea of timeline/priority. A clear answer will help us decide if we need to find alternatively cloud solutions. I have already switched over to Google Drive. A clear plan will help others adapt their own planning to whether it's time to invest in alternative solutions.

It is not convincing to me that one of the most valuable software companies has not been able to fix such an issue for nearly a month. I'm now starting to believe this "unsolvable" issue is actually a feature removal. Shame on you, Microsoft.

I have not seen this mentioned here, but for me this problem coincided with OneDrive terminating with error code 0x8004def4 when launching it - this happens on multiple PCs that are all parts of the same Microsoft 365 Family subscription.

FWIW, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling OneDrive on one PC, but it does not even start to sync after that.

Checking the (obfuscated) ODL logs with https://github.com/ydkhatri/OneDrive did not yield anything interesting at first glance.

I solved this problem deleting "program files/Microsoft OneDrive" after uninstalling.

Then you will probably join against this .url bug if you have shared folders in your OneDrive account.

This could be useful - thank you.

I had the error code: 0x8004def4 after a windows update, and I solved that error code by reinstalling onedrive. However, then the URL link problem happened on all of computers in our Family Subscription (even though they had not had the 0x8004def4 error).

Question: Do you think I will have to uninstall and then delete the one drive program files on just one computer, or all of them in the family?
