Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

last week microsoft finally updated my personal account to version v2, but a strange synchronization problem remains...

I have two accounts: a personal one (paid) in which I share a folder to another work account. Now the contents of the shared folder is different between the two accounts! In particular I noticed that all the subfolders and files that, in the past, I have shared with other users do not inherit the sharing settings from the main folder. I have therefore cleaned up ALL the previous sharing policies in my personal account hoping to solve the problem but these "particular" subfolders and files still not to inherit the sharing parameter like all the others. I attach two screenshots that compare what I see on the personal account (owner of the folder) and on the work one.

personal account: I share all the folder named "AS" and some subfolders and files like the "condivisa" folder in the screenshot below is marked as "private"

work account: the subfolder is completely missing!

Has anyone had the same problem? Is there a way to completely reset the sharing settings of the subfolders? any tips?

In addition I specify that the other folders shared with me by other users have duplicated themselves (the copy, not shared, has been renamed by adding the name of my pc) with different contents for several files!

    Thanks for your support.

Check the contents very carefully of the folder that has been renamed by appending "-computername".

Folders and files that were not set to "Always keep on this device" (i.e. folders with the "-P +U" [keep offline] attributes set) will be missing as they only existed in the cloud storage, not on the local offline PC copy of the OneDrive folders and files.

After 2 months of nerve wrecking terror my onedrive problems finally seem fixed. Having a total of around 400GB of data and 180.000 (mostly really small) files with of good amount of shared folders my own account would not migrate to v2 while all other accounts of users that i share file with were already v2.

I have an old friend who works for MS who was able to use his internal contacts and give me the information that my migration was in progress. After i got this information it took 10 (!!!) days until my onedrive was finally migrated to v2 and all my 180.000 files started synching. It took nearly 3 days until all data was accessible again. But after that the sync process simply would not stop. It always stated that changes were processed while nothing happened. The ressource monitor showed minimal activity on some local database files.

After 5 days i finally decided to reset (will not erase any data!!!) the sync as described here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/reset-onedrive-34701e00-bf7b-42db-b960-84905399050c

Please note that the path for the ondrive.exe seems to have changed. In my case it can found here: C:\users[usersame]\appdata\local\Microsoft\Onedrive

After this i received some error message but after a reboot and a really quick search for changes everything is back to normal...

Can you share with us, what is the status of the migration?

    Is it 50% 80% 99%?

Would you be so kind to ask your good friend?

Is it possible that your friend could somehow contact the OneDrive team, to make a statement about this process?

    People are demanding the status.

Thank you very much for you help.
