Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on Windows PC

Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

    We'll use your ink cartridge just a "little bit" each time you turn the printer on to scan a document and block you from using the last 30% so you can have even deeper reds (in your bank account).

    That's a very good improvement. For themselves.

    Or did Google translated it incorrectly and this says it will be fixed? Are they migrating shortcuts back to "real folders" or are they innovating by giving us the pleasure of being able to not "waste local space" with shared folders by redirecting us to use Edge to open OneDrive.com? Oh yes, they forgot to do that last bit and force Edge to open it instead of our default browsers, which might be chrome or firefox. Missed opportunity on advertising their "fantastic' browser. 🤪

    My tech buddy solved this OneDrive issue for my family.

    1. Downloaded the entire shared folder from OneDrive (where we have all our files stored) to a local PC (300 GB of data).
    2. Formed a new account within OneDrive (which creates the new account in the Version 2 environment).
    3. Formed a new account for the other user in our OneDrive Share environment.
    4. Migrated all 300 GB of data onto OneDrive in the new account.
    5. Shared the new account master folder with the other new user account.
    6. Delete the old accounts (one of which had migrated and the other had not).

    20 hours of tech time ($2,000 cost to me) and we are back up and running as before. Absolutely infuriating to have to go through this and Microsoft should reimburse me for that cost, but that would be in a world where large companies actually cared about their customers. Clearly Microsoft does not care.

    what does "Migrated" mean... you have, you haven't... i'm lost... there were no changes on either account and yet the folders are still showing as links, not folders :( I'm no tech guru, but this is typical of microsoft to make changes without explanation. :(
