Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

Thanks, but why do we need to try another product if our problem is that the current one is broken and abandoned?

Office 365 Family Edition should receive at least basic reasonable support.

We're not asking to "talk to the manager", but to wait (much) less than 9 months and almost 250 pages of a discussion around a very disruptive bug.

9 months are 3 quarters of a subscription. Are we getting a refund for the time the service isn't working properly?

Please understand I am not asking for a refund. Just that someone takes the problem as something that needs to be fixed within a reasonable time table. Bonus points if we're made aware of such. Extra bonus if we're given a button somewhere to ask to be put in a queue to be moved as soon as possible to the same server with other accounts. That should not be a problem unless all users are making use of shared folders.

Sorry for my conspiracy theories, but that is how it looks from a consumer perspective. A consumer that doesn't want to pay much more to get the same service. We already had a situation with the disguised upgrade to move us to a subscription with Co-Pilot while the cheapest alternative, which is the same one we had when we started, for the same price we previously paid, is still sufficient.

I am open to spend more money if I get more value that I need. Not value that becomes necessary because of problems thrown at me by the service provider.

I am pretty sure that, at this point, all of us interested on migrating to a "more professional solution" that costs considerably more already did it.

I thank your attention reaching out to us, as a volunteer, but one month of free trial does not replace years of paid subscription at a much higher price. Plus, the quality of support will likely not be much different unless you're a customer spending thousands of dollars per month.

We are not attention seekers (per se). We would be very happy if things just worked or, when we report a bug, someone looked into it and fixed it. Microsoft used to be much better at this. What changed?

your reply is a mirror of how i feel, with the state of all the detritus in the world. I am setting up my lawn chair with beer and wine, awaiting the asteroid, and watching the flash, for a giant press of the RESET button.

hang in there, they're observing the sky, but there's one in line with the sun, that they can't see right now, but which will suddenly spring into view. :-)

I feel I am in a different movie. Not the one you mention, where Meryl Streep is the President, but the one with "electrolytes" 😏

I'm having the same issue, worse yet: I share my folders across all 6 people in my OneDrive network.
Microsoft is by far the single worst and more incompetent big tech. Their level of amateurship is beyond believable.

I had enough: I'm canceling my Family Plan, I'll backup all the data I have (at this point, it's easier to ask for a hard-copy blue-ray copy of my data, since Onedrive's download speed is sh*t). Firstly I always have a bad time trying to login with the "this page isn't working" prompt. Now, I cannot even share my folders in a practical way. OneDrive's and Microsoft accounts being hacked like no tomorrow, even the CEOs are getting hacked.

Microsoft have the worse developers and programmers from all companies.

Actually, my wife's url links returned to local folder links today along with the local files I had set to be "always in this device". Amazing!!
