Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

    How long must we wait?

The post above was from 9 months ago. This issue is happening on my wife's computer now. As a result, she can't use her password manager on the shared file.

There are possible workarounds posted in Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/onedrive/comments/1izd5el/work_around_for_shared_folders_becoming_links/

    I haven't tried any yet.

    it worked for me.

I hope that, upon recognizing the problem and once they've resolved it, Microsoft will at least—I'm not asking for a refund—but at least provide an additional free period for all the time lost due to this issue, which has truly caused a lot of disruption to the productivity of so many people."

2,813 people with the same problem – this is alarming, and even more so after what happened to me.

I created another Outlook.com account, thinking I was starting fresh. I spent several hours transferring my data, integrated it into my Family subscription, and shared it after removing the previous one. Problem solved, or so I thought.

Unfortunately, after just 15 days, I suddenly couldn’t find my folders anymore. I checked and found everything in the trash, but still visible on the web. I tried to reshare the folders, but nothing changed – same old URL issue!!

Terrible, so much time wasted!! 😤

After nine months of the issue, I suppose it is safe to assume that Microsoft won't solve it anytime soon.

A strange thing happens to me, I have an iMac with boothcamp, so I have both MAC and Windows installed in the same computer. OneDrive works perfectly on MAC but it doesn't work on Windows.

I was migrating my company's storage from Google Drive to OneDrive, and unfortunately didn't find the problem until I have finished migrating all the files and creating all the accounts.

Has anyone find a solution to this issue? A workaround? I can't believe somone as huge as Microsoft hasn't been able to solve this in over 9 months, it can only mean they are not really interested in solving it anytime soon.
