Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

This happened to me as well. One day, I woke up and turned on my computer, and there it was. I think the team is probably fixing it behind the scene but it probably will take a while to get to everyone so maybe wait a little longer and see if the situation gets resolved.

I guess that, to make this fix work, it must be applied to all the affected accounts: I mean the sharing source and all the destinations.

Anyway, I switched my shared folders to iCloud and I am happy this way. So for the moment I don't think I'll switch back to OneDrive.

    Hi,

As it has been said many times (but lost in the messages flow, I don't blame you for not seeing it), anything you'll try will fail (except of course creating new accounts... but not really a solution) and the only solution is to wait.

Many users reported that their account was being migrated, that we cannot do anything but complain on social networks and hope it will speed things up (I doubt that), so we should try to stop flooding this feed as new users would miss the conclusion 😊

Addedum: MS doesn't give a sh*t about us being upset. They know that many are unable to leave anyway, and that the others will forget the issue the day it's fixed for them.

Tonight my account changed to having a "create and upload" button, so fingers crossed my shared folders (in) should convert back to real folders, not URLs.

This morning it's back to having "Add new", so I am not sure what's happening here.

Fingers crossed that the migration on my account is in progress.
