Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on Windows PC

Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

I have three shared folders which stopped working on 19.06.2024.

As of today, they are now working OK again.

I had to remove the existing "Internet Shortcuts" and then recreate the links.

All three shared folders are now visible again in Windows Explorer.

At long last ...

After seeing your comment I tried the same and mine has returned to normal as well. Recreating the links on this occasion has worked. I haven't checked yet today but yesterday they were working again!

Hopefully it's just a roll out delay now!

Exactly! Buying a new computer is not a workaround and probably not even an option for someone who can't afford it. Also, this issue started for me on June 10, 2024. Since it was on my work computer and my work-from-home laptop since my job is of a hybrid nature, my boss decided to buy me a new laptop to replace the work desktop and laptop and it still did not work. We have unshared files, a new complete setup, and used my personal email instead of my work email. Same issue. Went back to my work email and still nothing, have unshared and reshared multiple times. Restored computers to factory settings. Nothing has worked. Suggesting to buy another computer to try and set it up again with a completely new unrelated email is ludicrous. I am glad it worked for you and that you could buy a new laptop and solve the issue, but this is an unacceptable "solution". Microsoft has had over 6 months to deal with the issue and still nothing

Sadly, removing "existing shortcuts" has not worked for me. I have tried it several times with no luck. Tried it again today just to see if something has changed, but it still didn't work.
