Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on Windows PC

Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

    Absolutely disgraceful that such a massive company like Windows still hasn’t resolved such a critical issue for its users.

    This problem, where shared folders turn into web link files, started happening earlier this year to some friends using Windows PCs. Now, it’s recently started affecting me in a Mac environment. To top it off, they have the audacity to suggest using OneDrive.com as a "temporary workaround" while they fix it. Do they honestly consider that a viable alternative, especially when this issue has been ongoing for months?

    It’s unimaginable that a company of this size, with so much infrastructure, continues to allow such a major problem to persist, rendering the service completely useless—especially when it’s part of a paid subscription. I still can’t believe it.

    This situation is pushing me to move my cloud storage to another provider, like Dropbox or anyone else, who can provide a functional service. Having fully integrated folders in the native file explorer and seamless access from mobile devices is fundamental.

    I honestly can’t believe this absolutely shameful situation is still ongoing. I’m giving you one week to fix this.

    I had problem from May2024 and so curious that problem hasn't been solved. I have tried many ways, I shared a folder to 2 people, 1 can add this folder to his file explorer, 1 just only "internet shortcut"; and this one shared another folder back to me, my file explorer also appear it as "internet shortcut". When I use Onedrive app in iphone, I can access this folder.

    Please help to fix it, we need it work in our desktop. MS you are top 3 valuable company on earth, please do sth worth it.

    The fact this has persisted for as long as it has and their response to my support email tells me they have absolutely no inclination to fix it. Is it some kind of IT beef between windows and microsoft? Is this for an angle to slowly get more people to use the weblink? I've never heard of an issue persisting for this long and there not being more effort to fix it.

    This is absurd!! How can they refuse to fix something like this for almost 6 months? It completely breaks workflow in every office that relies on this and they should respond in court for this!!
