Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

The problem lies here. The accounts where the shared folders don't work has this Sign in message when signing in directly to ONEDRIVE (https://onedrive.live.com/login/)

If you chose Work or School account above, you get this message but there is no way pass this.

I did not create a school or work account.

Is it not (according to me) a Microsoft account problem. I have shared one Microsoft license with 3 Family members. One of the shared accounts work perfect and the Main user and other shared account has the problem. All 3 email addresses have the same DOMAIN so it can't be a domain name that Microsoft see as Work or School.

The OneDrive account was created after Mid-June 2024 when the whole OneDrive "Crash" happened.

The above message does not appear when signing into Microsoft and then going to OneDrive from there.

All accounts that don't work and only create a shortcut, can't receive a link as a folder in Windows Explorer nor can it Share a folder to either an account that don't work or account that work. In both cases the shared folder is a link in Windows Explorer.

If a FAULTY account shares a folder with a "Working" account is shows online in both accounts as SHARED but it appears as a link in the Working accounts Windows Explorer.

This is the folder on the Working account in OneDrive online. It looks perfect but as you can see above

Dropped Microsoft and switched to Google. Tired of no fix or communication on a fix.

Hello, what progress has Microsoft made in fixing this defect? It's been over 4 months now. Is this really a priority to MSFT?
