Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

OneDrive is an online resource you can set it to work offline if you wish but it will require to go online at some point.

    See Files on Demand.

My friend shared a folder with me. It has around 500 GB of data. He shared this folder like 2 years ago and it was working fine. Until one day It didn't.
When I add it to my files it works like normal on the browser.

But on my Mac OS all I get is a file "NameOfTheFolder.url" It's just a .url file.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled OneDrive. I couldn't fix it.

The .url files is a link to OneDrive website for that folder.
    What else should I try?

    Hello, this is Emily.

There can be two possibilities that this happened.

    1. Your OneDrive desktop app is currently not running, due to uninstallation, or account is not signed in.
    2. You have removed the folder(s) back up from OneDrive settings.

    ======================

Can you please confirm that your OneDrive desktop app is running and you have signed in using the correct account on the app?

Next, right click on the OneDrive cloud icon on the lower right on your taskbar to go to Settings. On the "Sync and Backup" tab, click on "Manage Backup" button, make sure these folders are turned on.

See if your files show back up now?

In addition, you can also turn off OneDrive OnDemand so they don't store as cloud copies only.

On the "Sync and Backup" tab, click on "Advanced Settings" to expand that section. Then under File On-Demand, click on "Download all files". (this can take time for all of the files to download from the cloud).
