Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

For an additional data point - my accounts "split" on 2025-02-23, about 1.5 months ago - and I've been following this and other threads since.

My sync'd account was still on v1, and the other accounts shared with me were v2 (as near as I can tell).

Given some of the above updates - I just now removed and reinstalled the latest version of the OneDrive client (25.051.0317.0003). Even after signing back-in, there was still no fix. (Edit to note, this version is not even yet listed in the release notes posted at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/onedrive-release-notes-845dcf18-f921-435e-bf28-4e24b95e5fc0 !!)

I then removed the shortcut and had the folder re-shared - which now works - but only on one of 2 shared accounts. (The one I really need, is still stuck on v1!)

However, I don't know how much the updated OneDrive client had to do with any of this - as it appears that my primary / sync'd account now was just recently updated to v2 as well.

Can Microsoft please add this issue to the official status page? Service Status Clearly v1 and v2 api users are unable to share files and this should be mentioned on the official service status page.

Hi, I now have 30000 files in my recycle bin on my Mac, taking up 38GB of my hard drive, which is slowly taking over my hard drive. Most of these are URL files. Why are these being put in my bin?????
