Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

Many of our customers rely on OneDrive to share data files for our applications between users, and they are completely blocked by this issue. They are blaming us for the problem because our data files are involved, no matter how we explain that Microsoft broke something. We at least need a workaround to give them, because telling them to sign up for another cloud storage provider and move all of their data isn't acceptable.

I don't have a solution, but I found a couple of interesting things while gathering information for a bug report.

    1. I logged into my OneDrive account via the web interface. When I click on Shared, I still see the broken folders in question. However, when I click on those folders, I get a "Something went wrong" page saying "accessDenied". I have checked with the person who is sharing these folders and they have not changed anything about the shares. As a test, I had him share another folder with me. This new folder also gives me "accessDenied". Is this happening to anyone else?
    2. I am running Windows 10 and have a OneDrive version of 24.101.0519.0010 (you can find this by right-clicking OneDrive tray icon and selecting Settings, then click on About). If you click on version number, it will take you to a list of releases here -> https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/onedrive-release-notes-845dcf18-f921-435e-bf28-4e24b95e5fc0 . Notice that the current builds and "rolling out" builds are much lower than this one. I don't know how I got this version, I'm not signed up for any beta programs for Windows or OneDrive. My friend who is sharing the folders also has this version.
