Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

We are having the same issue in our office. The affected shared folders appear in File Explorer as internet links that open in a browser when clicked. These shortcuts were created 6/18/24 at 3AM, so apparently part of a Windows Update. Strangely, it is affecting some shared folders, while others are synchronizing properly.

This is rather alarming, especially considering that the original post in this thread was on June 8, almost 2 weeks ago, and the problem, rather than being resolved, is only spreading.

This is not the only issue we have had with OneDrive. For the last few months the files in the shared folders would only synchronize one way. The files I would add would synchronize to my coworker's computer, but the files she would add would not synchronize to mine.

If these issues are not corrected soon, we will need to be looking for other options.

I've got many businesses depending on this **** to function, and I'm the one coping the abusive phone calls from OneDrive users, not Microsoft. This issue has gone on far too long and I'm currently looking into alternatives. I'm done recommending this garbage. Microsoft needs to pull its head in.

FYI, I have pulled all my personal and business data from OneDrive and will be using alternative solutions moving forward. This is a major screw up from Microsoft, and sadly it isn't the first I've experienced. I will never forget the 6 months or so I couldn't use it natively within iOS/iPadOS (files), basically rendering OneDrive useless on iPhone and iPad despite me paying for the privilege. You want to pitch me "the cloud is the future", then you better do that **** right out the gate.
